This quote by Aristotle sums up for me why it is so nice to be on a hike.

For years, a small group of people who met while in graduate school in the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology at Michigan State University have been backpacking in the Western United States. The links above will take you to a brief summary summary of the trips taken. A map has been included showing various routes (hike in, climbing routes, day hikes).

The majority of photographs and annotation of hikes up to 2004 come from Ted during the analog print era. Following the conversion to digital photography, hikes after 2004 have images from Ted, Brian, Jim and myself. I would like to thank Brian, Ted, and Jim for sharing their photos.
